Biography

Elke studied four years communication design at the Fachhochschule für Gestaltung Mannheim (Bachelor of Honours in graphic design). She worked as a graphic designer in an advertising agency and as a 3d artist in a film production company. Although she enjoyed the digital world, she continued developing her traditional painting and drawing skills to feel authentic. A whole new adventure started in 2005, when Elke moved to Cape Town/South Africa to discover a new cultural environment. There she expanded her horizon to gain a more international perspective as a freelancer and lecturer in the field of graphic design and animation at Institutes of Higher Education.

The beauty of South Africa’s nature motivated her to paint flowers and landscapes. Fresh, deeper spiritual experiences lead her into finding ways of taking screenshots of these realms to capture them in the form of paintings and use them for praying or to visualize them for others. Over time she developed her unique playful style that releases freedom, peace and joy. She started to exhibit her paintings and as people wanted to buy her art and the products she made with her art prints, she slowly changed over time from the digital creative industry to contemporary art.

Elke  loves to observe flowers, patterns in nature and to explore abstract realms she encounters in dreams and visions. Painting is for her an exploration of finding ways to tap into the pool of glory diamonds in heaven to download them to earth.

The transforming power of the Holy Spirit she has experienced in her life convinces her that there is much more that God wants to release through art and other forms of creativity.

As she lives in different cultures and travels between Europe and Africa, her paintings reflect these influences. She uses vibrant bright colors and lines to express the flow of spiritual vibes supported by structure and the love for detail.
